Rach Mac: Appointed to the Centre For Women’s Safety and Well-being Board

Centre for women’s safety & wellbeing (CWSW) announced their lived experience advisory board & Rach Mac now sits on the board.

Centre For Women’s Safety and Well-being is the WA based peak body for family, domestic and sexual violence. (CWSW)represent specialist women’s domestic & family violence services, community based women’s health, and sexual assault services. They work alongside organisations & practitioners who provide specialist support services across these three sectors.

Headed by their director the amazing Dr Alison Evans. Today was our first meeting The topic for discussion was the overview of the Department of Justices consultation on legislative responses to coercive control in Western Australia.

Those who know me know I do not hold back & I was true to form today. Coercive control is where domestic/ family violence begins & it is imperative we start at the beginning. Being extremely complex it is vital we take our time & get it right the first time to ensure we are thorough in our deliverance.

I will continue to voice my opinions, ideas and solutions, and along with my board colleagues ensure we implement and are heard.

I am feeling very privileged to be given this opportunity & as previously stated the time for change is long overdue & I give you my word I plan to head that change with everything I have in me.

Rach Mac: Minister Should Resign

Rach Mac is the founder of the Broken Crayons Still Colour Foundation and says the Minister for Women’s Interest & Prevention of Family/Domestic violence should resign.

Rach says that a lot more can be done for victims of domestic violence with the process being hard to navigate. She spoke to Isaac after being mentioned last week in his interview with Minister Simone McGurk.

Thank You to Goldfields Security Service

I want to give a massive love filled Thank You to Goldfields Security Service Who have donated a $5000 towards our transitional safe home.

Chelsey & Callum have followed our work for 5 years watching us start as a small community group & evolving into the game changing foundation we have become. In Chelsey’s own words “ whilst the work you do now is vital, it is a Band-Aid fix, your vision to build a safe home for victims of domestic violence is desperately needed to give victims a sanctuary”.

Nothing is more delightful than knowing others can see the importance of my vision that I can assure you will become reality. Thank You from the bottom of my heart for this very generous donation 🖤
